Elizabeth L. Brown,
MA, NCC, LPC, LMHC

Elizabeth values a holistic approach to therapy integrating mental, physical, social, and spiritual aspects of the client’s life, using a treatment approach aimed at addressing the needs of the whole person rather than just the person’s symptoms.  Elizabeth utilizes a therapeutic approach that is highly individualized to each of her clients. She draws on techniques from cognitive, behavioral, person-centered, dynamic, and solution-focused therapy modalities. Elizabeth aims to help her clients facilitate personal growth by identifying and removing the obstacles that hinder their natural propensity for self-realization.

In private practice, Elizabeth’s clinical specialties include; anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, relational problems, eating disorders, grief, and mood disorders among others. Elizabeth strives to forge meaningful relationships with each patient to create a safe environment in which to explore how current and past events, emotional experiences, and relationships have shaped one’s inner world. She believes that in developing a better understanding and a healthy therapeutic relationship, one can uncover patterns that are not working and help develop new ways of living more authentically.

Prior to becoming a professional counselor, Elizabeth served over 20 years in various non-profit organizations mentoring and teaching children, adolescents, and adults. She effectively works with individuals, couples, and families.
