Elizabeth Leoni, LPC
Licensed Professional Counselor
Meet Elizabeth.
Helping You Heal, Grow, and Thrive
Life's challenges can leave us feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck in patterns that no longer serve us. Whether you are navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, grief, life transitions, or emotional pain, I believe healing begins in a safe, compassionate, and collaborative therapeutic relationship.
As a person-centered, trauma-informed psychotherapist and Michigan LLPC Supervisor, I view every individual through a biopsychosocial-spiritual lens, recognizing that emotional well-being is influenced by the interaction of biological, psychological, relational, social, cultural, and spiritual factors. Rather than focusing solely on symptoms or diagnoses, I strive to understand your unique story, life experiences, strengths, values, and resilience. Together, we develop an individualized treatment plan that honors who you are while supporting meaningful and lasting change.
In addition to providing psychotherapy, I am honored to serve as an LLPC Supervisor in Michigan, mentoring Limited Licensed Professional Counselors as they develop clinical competence, ethical decision-making, and professional confidence. My supervision philosophy reflects the same values I bring to therapy—collaboration, cultural humility, trauma-informed care, reflective practice, and a steadfast commitment to client welfare.
My Approach to Therapy.
My therapeutic approach integrates trauma-informed care, attachment theory, relational therapy, strengths-based interventions, mindfulness, psychoeducation, and evidence-based practices to help clients gain insight, regulate emotions, improve relationships, and develop healthier ways of coping. I believe that many behaviors are adaptive responses to difficult experiences, and therapy provides an opportunity to understand those patterns with curiosity rather than judgment.
I work with adults and couples experiencing concerns such as trauma and PTSD, anxiety, depression, stress, relationship conflict, infidelity and betrayal trauma, grief and loss, self-esteem challenges, emotional regulation difficulties, and major life transitions. My goal is to help clients move beyond surviving toward living with greater clarity, resilience, connection, and purpose.
I am deeply committed to providing an affirming, respectful, and culturally responsive environment where clients feel genuinely seen and heard. Therapy is not something that is done to you—it is a collaborative process in which we work together to identify your goals, strengthen your resources, and foster lasting emotional and relational health.
You may feel especially comfortable working with Elizabeth if:
You understand the pattern, but still struggle to change it. You may recognize why you respond the way you do, yet find yourself returning to familiar reactions, relationships, or coping strategies.
Something difficult from your past still shows up in your present. Trauma, painful relationships, loss, or earlier experiences may continue to influence how safe, connected, or confident you feel today.
You want to understand yourself, not simply manage symptoms. You are interested in exploring the experiences, relationships, values, strengths, and circumstances that have shaped you.
Your relationship has been hurt by conflict, disconnection, infidelity, or betrayal. You want a thoughtful space to understand what happened, address the emotional impact, and determine what healing and rebuilding might look like.
You tend to judge yourself for how you cope. You would benefit from approaching your reactions with curiosity—understanding what they may have helped you survive or manage before deciding what you would like to change.
You are navigating a season of significant change. Grief, relationship changes, shifting roles, or other transitions may have left you wondering what comes next or who you are becoming.
You want therapy to feel collaborative. You value a therapist who will listen carefully, respect the complexity of your experiences, and work alongside you rather than assuming there is one prescribed path toward healing.
Your cultural, relational, or spiritual experiences matter to how you understand yourself. You want room for these parts of your life to be explored when they are meaningful to you.
