Sarina S. Hasanain
LLC MBA MA ADHD-CCSP
Meet Sarina.
Sarina is a therapist who is passionate about supporting children, adolescents, and young adults as they navigate life’s challenges, transitions, and periods of emotional growth. She earned her Bachelor of Arts from McGill University in Montreal, where she studied Anthropology and Neuropsychology. She later completed post-baccalaureate studies at Harvard, where she studied the sciences and became involved in research across a range of areas, including neuroscience, global health, and disease prevention. Sarina also holds an MBA in Healthcare Management and an MA in Counseling Psychology from Northwestern University. She is currently pursuing her PhD in Counseling Psychology, which continues to deepen her clinical, academic, and research interests.
Sarina's clinical areas of interest include ADHD, anxiety, depression, behavioral concerns, and difficult life adjustments and transitions. She especially enjoys working with school-aged clients and young adults, as she has spent much of her own life navigating academic environments and understands how deeply school systems, learning demands, peer relationships, and transitions can shape a person’s emotional well-being. She strives to create a warm, supportive, and collaborative space where clients feel understood, accepted, and empowered to build insight, confidence, and practical coping skills.
Her path to the counseling field was shaped by both her academic background and personal experiences with grief, mindfulness, and healing. Sarina is also a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-250), and she values the connection between emotional wellness, mindfulness, self-awareness, and the mind-body relationship.
My Approach to Therapy
Sarina believes that meaningful change begins with feeling safe, heard, and understood. She approaches therapy with warmth, curiosity, and collaboration, recognizing that every person's experiences, strengths, and challenges are unique.
In therapy, she partners with clients to build self-awareness, strengthen practical coping skills, and develop confidence in navigating life's challenges. Her work is grounded in evidence-based practices while remaining flexible to each client's individual needs, goals, and pace.
In addition to providing therapy, Sarina conducts comprehensive ADHD assessments for children, adolescents, and adults. Her evaluations go beyond determining whether someone meets criteria for ADHD—they are designed to understand the whole person. Because many conditions can look similar to ADHD or occur alongside it, she carefully evaluates for related concerns such as anxiety, depression, learning differences, executive functioning challenges, trauma, sleep difficulties, and other factors that may influence attention, behavior, and emotional regulation. Her goal is to provide thoughtful diagnostic clarity that leads to meaningful recommendations for treatment, school or workplace accommodations, and long-term success.
Drawing from her background in neuroscience, counseling psychology, and mindfulness, Sarina values the connection between the mind and body. She helps clients understand not only what they are experiencing, but why they may be experiencing it, empowering them with knowledge, practical strategies, and renewed confidence as they move toward lasting growth.

A Little More About Me
Outside the therapy office, Sarina is a New Yorker at heart and firmly believes there's no substitute for New York pizza. She enjoys practicing yoga and meditation, traveling, and unwinding with reruns of Grey's Anatomy. These interests help keep her grounded and remind her of the importance of balance, curiosity, and finding joy in everyday moments.
