Sue Murray, MA, MS, CFLE, LMFT
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
Meet Sue.
Relationships are complex. Healing doesn't have to happen alone.
Healthy relationships don't happen by accident—they're built through understanding, intentionality, and the willingness to grow. Whether you're navigating conflict in your marriage, preparing for a lifetime together, or trying to untangle long-standing family dynamics, therapy can provide a space where lasting change becomes possible.
Sue Murray, LMFT, approaches therapy with a combination of gentleness, wisdom, and thoughtful curiosity. She believes that meaningful change begins by slowing down enough to understand the patterns that keep people feeling stuck. Rather than assigning blame, Sue helps clients develop new ways of seeing themselves, each other, and the relationships they value most.
With experience as both a practicing therapist and a college-level educator training future therapists, Sue brings depth of knowledge while remaining warm, approachable, and practical. Clients often appreciate her ability to ask insightful questions with compassion while also offering direct guidance when it's needed most.
My Approach to Therapy.
Every relationship develops patterns over time. Some help us feel connected; others quietly create distance. Sue works collaboratively with clients to identify these patterns and discover practical ways to move toward healthier, more intentional relationships.
For couples, Sue utilizes Prepare/Enrich, one of the nation's leading relationship assessment tools, to help partners better understand their strengths, anticipate areas of growth, and build a strong foundation for the future. Whether couples are dating, engaged, newly married, or have been together for decades, this structured approach creates meaningful conversations that often lead to lasting change.
When working with children, Sue recognizes that play is often their most natural language. Through Play Therapy and Sand Tray Therapy, she creates opportunities for children to express feelings, process difficult experiences, strengthen emotional regulation, and develop healthier ways of responding to life's challenges. She works with children experiencing behavioral concerns, school-related difficulties, family transitions, divorce, and the unique adjustments that come with blended families.
Sue also enjoys working with adults throughout the lifespan as they navigate changing roles, relationships, parenting, aging, loss, and other developmental transitions. Her approach is grounded in the belief that every stage of life presents opportunities for growth, healing, and deeper connection.
Above all, Sue strives to create an atmosphere where clients feel both accepted and gently challenged as they work toward healthier relationships and greater emotional well-being.
