Holly Garces

MS, ATR

Holly incorporates traditional talk therapy techniques with carefully selected art media to allow clients to explore personal struggle through color, line and form.  It is thru the creative process and the subsequent artwork where Holly aids clients in beginning their therapeutic journey.  Art therapy is an effective therapeutic approach for clients across the lifespan. It can be applied to treat any mental health issues, or life challenge,  be it short-term or ongoing.

Anyone is a good candidate for art therapy.  For many, it can be difficult to talk about complex issues.  Sometimes words fail us. Art therapy can give you a new way to communicate through the universal language of art and image.

“I came to art therapy with a lifelong love of art and the desire to help people access new parts of themselves and to see new possibilities in the world around them.  Along with art therapy techniques, I also incorporate elements of mindfulness. The most important element in my practice is to develop a collaborative relationship with my clients.  I strive to provide a safe, non-judgmental environment where I will encourage you to engage in the creative process of art-making.  My goal is for you to feel supported as you express any thoughts, feelings or behaviors you wish to explore. “
